Beverley Minster’s annual Christmas Tree Festival will run from December 4 to 8

We’re excited to share a beautiful Christmas tree from the East Riding Ukrainian community 🌲

Beverley Minster’s annual Christmas Tree Festival will run from December 4 to 8

This year, the theme of the Ukrainian Christmas tree is traditional embroidery. We made a short video about our this. Enjoy yourself!

Embroidery (including cross stitch) not only made our clothes and homes more beautiful, the patterns had symbolic meaning, they were a talisman for every person.

Each Christmas decoration on the tree is unique and handmade with love by talented people from various regions of Ukraine and women and children temporarily living in the East Riding of Yorkshire 💛💙

This year, children from the front-line city of Kramatorsk, who have been relocated to Dnipro and are facing difficult conditions due to the war, helped us create decorations for the Christmas tree at Beverley Minster.

Many thanks to everyone who responded and helped with donations, made decorations at meetings and at home, embroidered, volunteers-migrants from Kramatorsk in Dnepr, everyone who supported and did not stand aside 🙌

Special thanks to the project manager Svitlana Lapka

📌If you liked our Christmas tree #77, please vote for it!

📌If you spot a favorite decoration on our tree, we’d love for you to visit our table at the Saturday market the 21st of December! All decorations will be available for sale, with proceeds going to support temporarily displaced children in Ukraine
